SPIE Public Policy Update
With the UK's historic exit from the European Union official, SPIE Government Affairs Director Jennifer Douris O’Bryan welcomes several UK technology and regulation experts for our Q1 Public Policy Update.

Leanne Thomas, Director of Greenaway Scott, will give an overview of the new UK control regime for foreign investments with a particular focus on the impact on optic and photonic technologies. Afterward, we will be joined by John Lincoln of UK Photonics for perspective and discussion on these changes. The presentations will be followed by a Q&A session open to all participants.

Leanne Thomas

Leanne is a Director of Greenaway Scott and head of the Pembroke Dock office. Leanne has a wealth of experience and with a particular focus on private equity, MBOs, mergers and acquisitions and restructuring. She specializes in all aspects of corporate law and has significant experience in leading deals in a range of business sectors including start-ups, retail, technology and clean energy. Responsible for the Pembroke team, Leanne recently led in the six figure MBO of a Port Talbot based engineering company. John Lincoln

John Lincoln is an optoelectronic and photonic business development professional with extensive experience in business opportunity identification in markets from semiconductors to biotechnology. With a background in engineering management and development in lasers and telecommunications, John has served in many roles guiding the UK photonics industry over the past two decades. He serves in leadership on the Board of Advisors for Catapult, the Compound Semiconductor Applications Group, the Business Advisors group for the IoP, and is Outreach Manager for Future Photonics Hub.
