Spatial Light Modulators – Status and Potential for Holography
Host: Hans Zappe (University of Freiburg, Germany), Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Optical Microsystems

Moderator: Harald Schenk (Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems, Germany)

Spatial Light Modulators (SLM) play a central role in application areas including image projection, wavefront control and light beam steering. The webinar will present 4 different talks from SLM experts addressing different complementary SLM variants. Special focus will be given to the perspective of using SLMs for computer generated holography applications, up to real holographic 3D displays without negative physiological side effects. The introductory talk will be given by an outstanding well known expert for augmented, virtual, and mixed reality displays.

Hear from:

Bernard Kress (Microsoft) - Keynote

Stephen Hamann (Silicon Light Machines) - High Speed MEMS Spatial Light Modulators for Holography

Stefan Osten (HoloEye) - LCoS-based Phase SLMs for Holographic Applications

Michael Wagner (IPMS) - Micro Mirror Arrays (MMA) Targeting Computer Generated Holography
